If you are a minor, and are not sure you understand everything in this Policy, please make sure to speak with a trusted adult before using MyShare. Please also remember that MyShare is not meant to be used if you are under 13.

In this Privacy Policy, we will explain what information we collect about you, how we use it, when we share it, and the controls we provide you to manage the information you share with us.

1. Information we process about you

MyShare (the ‘App’) collects information that you provide directly to us, through your use of our App and your visit to our website or shared by third-parties.

1.1. Data that you provide to us

Account Creation Data: When you create an account on our App, we will ask you for the following information: your phone number, full name, date of birth and username. Without it, we cannot provide you access to the App. During (or after) account creation there is also some additional information you can decide to share with us: a biography, your location (as precise as you want), and a profile picture.

Content Data: when you use the App, you can decide to share the following data:

  • Photos and videos that you take (“Content”) using the app or photos that you share from your library. You can create an account without allowing us to access and collect data from your device’s camera or photo library. However, you will only be able to see your friends’ Content when you have posted your own. It’s a foundational part of how MyShare works.
  • Your GPS location: you can decide to share your GPS location when you share Content through our App. If you choose to share your location and you are not a child, by default, your precise location – street level – is shared but you can switch it to your approximate location – city level. If you are a child, your approximate location is shared by default and only if you choose to share it.
  • Your reaction to your friends’ Content: emojis, captions and comments.

Chat Data: when you use the MyShare chat function, we collect the messages, photos and videos you share with your friends within the chat.

Communications with MyShare: When you report a concern with our App, respond to a survey, request assistance, we collect the following data:

  • Your email address,
  • Content of communication with us,
  • Photos you may decide to share with us,
  • Copies of government issued identification (only when strictly required to identify you with certainty).

1.2. Data collected automatically

Usage Data: We collect information about your activity on the App, including:

  • The date and time you created your account,
  • The date and time of your last connection,
  • Content you post, view or interact with,
  • Features you use and actions you take,
  • Your interactions with other users (e.g., friends you add, messages you send).

Device Data: We collect information about the device you use to access the App, including:

  • Device type, operating system, and version,
  • Unique device identifiers,
  • Network information (e.g., Wi-Fi, mobile network),
  • Language settings,
  • Crash reports and performance data.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

2.1. To provide and maintain the App

We use your data to operate and deliver the features of MyShare, including creating and maintaining your account, enabling you to post Content, interact with friends, and use all the App’s functionalities.

2.2. To improve and personalize your experience

We analyze usage patterns and feedback to improve the App, fix bugs, develop new features, and personalize your experience based on your preferences and interactions.

2.3. To ensure safety and security

We use your information to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Community Standards and Terms of Service. This includes reviewing Content and communications when reported by users or flagged by automated systems.

2.4. To communicate with you

We may send you notifications related to your account, updates about the App, and respond to your inquiries and support requests. We may also send you promotional communications, which you can opt out of at any time.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following circumstances:

3.1. With other users

Your profile information (username, name, profile picture, biography) is visible to other users. Content you post is visible to your friends and, depending on your privacy settings, may be visible to a wider audience.

3.2. With service providers

We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the App, including hosting, analytics, customer support, and content moderation. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and only use it as directed by us.

3.3. For legal reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MyShare, our users, or others.

4. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App’s services. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Content you post (photos, videos, comments) is deleted from our servers when you delete it or when you delete your account. However, please note that Content may remain in backup systems for a limited period and that other users may have saved or shared your Content.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You can update or correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to restriction: You can request that we limit processing of your personal data.
  • Right to data portability: You can request a portable copy of your data.
  • Right to object: You can object to certain processing of your personal data.

6. Children’s privacy

MyShare is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at team@meyou.company.

For users between 13 and 17, we apply additional protections, including restricting certain features and limiting the visibility of their content and location data.

7. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International data transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring data internationally, including standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and other relevant authorities.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
